I ordered a mystery fat quarter bundle from Missouri star quilt company. I liked all the fat quarters that I received. There were a few colors of the top fabric and nothing too wild.

It was fun to see what was a mystery

Dancing Daylilies from Sew Preeti Quilts

The story of this quilt began in September 2019.

Dancing Daylilies 70" by 90"

It was the long weekend of Labor Day and I was playing with scraps... Moda Scrap Bag scraps, to be precise. The fabric is by Corey Yoder.

Scraps from Moda Scrap Bag

Just piecing strips and making large blocks. I ended up with a flimsy of 50" square. Good enough for a large baby quilt. I set it aside and worked on quilts for the Socorro Foundation

Almost Flimsy

In October 2019, I traveled to India. I was tasked to convey a care package to Meetu ...

I indulged in 2 moda scrap bags. I know they are not really economical, or practical, but, I love the mystery. Some bags are a disappointment, but, these were great. The strips were mostly 3 inches wide, and, many were coordinating.

top of the green from Making A Lather

I found a big bag of green scraps that I wanted to sort and decide. It was a nearly full 2 gallon ziplock bag. I spent 2 evenings folding and cutting. green is the  color for March for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy.

By the time I emptied the bag, I had a tray full of new additions to my scrap user's system. These weighed 2 pounds = 6 yards of fabric= at least 60.00

Now to see if the new pieces will fit in my drawers. 5 inch size is a new addition this year to ...

tiger tiger from Making A Lather

Linda brought a scrap bag to me.... I had found the tiger embroidery at a thrift store...I decided whatever I pulled out of the scrap bag, I would add to the quilt improv style. It has been fun. Some colors, I would not have put together on purpose. But, I like them together here. I think I saw a video on you tube by Beth Shibley from love laugh quilt that made a quilt this way. The last row here of fabric was on the freebie table at the quilt retreat. And I thought it could work.

I am ...
